I can’t get any sound through the digital cable. TV set to digital but no sound through bar. Any idea?

I initial had this issue using the optical cable. Cable was fine after checking on another TV setup. Turned TV on first then the sounds bar and heard very faint sound, started cranking the volume up on the sound bar remote and eventually got sounds at the desired level. Seems the sound bar defaulted to the minimum volume seeing with initial setup. No issues since then, can volume up and down to desired volume.
