Can this be stood up on end, or will that ruin the sound to the room?? Thank you!

It can be, but it doesn‘t necessarily look as pleasing. I leaned it up against the wall and it still sounded fine. The subwoofer can be stood up or laid down. I have mine on the side with the plain side on the shelf and it sounds great still.
